It didn’t begin with glory. It began with pain.
The second half of 2018—an ordinary day at Agara Lake in Bangalore—marked the start. The goal was simple: run 5 kilometers. No grand plan, no long-term vision. Just a run. That first attempt was brutal. The distance was completed, but the body protested for an entire week afterward. Walking felt like a task, let alone running again.
Many would have stopped there. But something lingered—a quiet urge to return.
So the lake became a routine. Day after day, step after step, the body adapted. What once felt impossible slowly became manageable. Five kilometers without stopping was no longer a dream—it became a baseline. Confidence grew. By 2019 and early 2020, participation in multiple 5K and 10K events followed. The journey had found momentum.
And then came the pause.
The global disruption of COVID-19 brought everything to a halt. For nearly a year and a half, running disappeared from daily life. Fitness regressed. Rhythm broke. It was, in every sense, a reset.
Restarting in 2022 felt like going back to square one. The stamina was gone, the pace was slower, and the body once again resisted. But this time, there was experience—and perhaps more importantly, patience. Progress wasn’t rushed. It was rebuilt.
Distance returned. Strength returned. And by February 2024, a milestone was achieved—the first half marathon. That moment changed the narrative. It wasn’t just about running anymore; it was about purpose.
Somewhere along the way, a new goal appeared: the Procam Slam. A challenge respected in the running community, demanding discipline across multiple major races. It wasn’t easy—but it was worth chasing.
April 2024 marked the beginning of that pursuit with the TCS 10K in Bangalore. Training intensified. The Vedanta Half Marathon followed. Then came the real test—TSK 25K. Each race pushed the limits further. Each finish line strengthened belief.
And then, January 2025.
The Tata Mumbai Marathon full marathon—a true test of endurance, resilience, and mental strength. It wasn’t just about finishing; it was about proving that the journey from that painful first 5K had led somewhere meaningful. Crossing that finish line completed the Procam Slam for the 2024–2025 cycle—a moment earned through years of persistence.
But the story didn’t stop there.
Another full marathon at TMM 2026. More endurance at IEM/UEM full marathons. The distances were no longer intimidating—they were inviting. The mindset had shifted from “Can I do this?” to “What’s next?”
And now, the horizon has expanded again.
Ultras.
Longer distances. Bigger challenges. Unknown limits.
What began as a painful 5K at a lake has evolved into a journey of endurance, discipline, and quiet determination. There were setbacks. There were restarts. But the thread that held it all together was consistency.
Not speed. Not talent.
Consistency.
Because in the end, that’s what transforms effort into achievement—and a runner into something more.
