The Bihar Diwas Run was a truly memorable and well-executed event. All runners assembled sharp at 5:00 AM, setting the tone with great discipline and enthusiasm. The session began with introductions, followed by a structured pre-run warm-up led by Sankhadeep, which helped everyone prepare effectively.
The run commenced at 5:30 AM with a total of 14 participants, supported by a dedicated cycle route marshal. We successfully covered the planned 22 km route, making brief stops for photographs at iconic spots like Victoria Memorial, Prinsep Ghat, and Alipore Zoo—adding both charm and energy to the run.
The run concluded around 8:15 AM, followed by a well-guided cool-down and stretching session conducted by Mr. Sawar Hijri. Post-run nutrition was thoughtfully arranged with bananas, chikki, and glucose water, ensuring proper recovery.
As a special gesture to mark Bihar Diwas, all participants were presented with a gamcha as a token of appreciation, which added a cultural and emotional touch to the event.
We then headed to Saurashtra Nimki for the promised post-run breakfast, wrapping up the event on a satisfying note.
What made this run truly special was the diversity of participants, with runners joining from different areas and backgrounds. Notably, several participants pushed their limits by completing distances beyond their usual 10 km for the first time—a commendable achievement.
Adding to the spirit of the occasion, runners from Bengali, Odiya, and UP communities also rose to the occasion of Bihar Diwas, beautifully reflecting cultural harmony and the true essence of unity in diversity.
Though the idea was mine, all the last-minute arrangements were efficiently handled by Comdt. Premanshu Mishra sir. I alone would not have been able to make this happen, and a special thanks goes to him for his support and coordination.
Overall, it was an amazing experience and a fitting celebration of Bihar Diwas through fitness, camaraderie, and shared spirit.
