The Pune International Marathon holds the prestigious distinction of being India's First International Marathon. Established in 1983, this premium athletic festival has welcomed thousands of running enthusiasts from all around the globe. It is proudly recognized as the first Indian marathon to be officially certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

​Event Schedule & Race Timings

​The 40th edition of the marathon is scheduled for Sunday, 6th December 2026, starting and finishing at the Baburao Sanas Sports Ground, Pune.  

•​02:30 AM (Midnight) – Mandatory Athlete Reporting & Assembly (30 minutes prior to race start)

•​03:00 AM (Midnight) – Full Marathon Flag-off (Men & Women)

​03:30 AM (Midnight) – Half Marathon Flag-off (Men & Women)

•​06:15 AM – 10 KM Race Start (Men & Women)

•​07:15 AM – 5 KM Race Start (Men & Women)

•​07:30 AM – Wheelchair Run Start (3 KM Open Category)

•​08:30 AM – Official Event Conclusion & Prize Distribution Ceremony

​Registration Fees and Race Categories

​Every registered participant across the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K categories will receive an official Runner's Kit including a T-shirt, time tracking chip, finisher's medal, official participation certificate, and breakfast.

•​Men & Women Full Marathon (42.195 Km) | Time Limit: 6 Hours 30 Mins | Fee: Rs 2,000 + GST  

•​Men & Women Half Marathon (21 Km) | Time Limit: 4 Hours | Fee: Rs 1,500 + GST  

•​10 KM Run (Exclusive for Indian Citizens) | Time Limit: 2 Hours | Fee: Rs 900 + GST  

•​5 KM Run (Open Category) | Time Limit: 1 Hour 15 Mins | Fee: Rs 750 + GST  

•​Wheelchair Run (3 KM Open to All) | No Time Limit | Fee: Rs 100 + GST

•​Full Marathon (Men & Women) | Distance: 42.195 Km | Fee: Rs 1,600 + GST

•​10 KM Run (Indian Citizens Only) | Distance: 10 Km | Fee: Rs 800 + GST

​Runner Rules & Mandatory Regulations

•​Age and Health Policy: All runners must be at least 18 years of age to enter. For medical and administrative safety, participants must present proof of double COVID-19 vaccination.

•​Bib Collection & ID Verification: Runners must present valid photo identification at the BIB Expo to collect their kits. BIB numbers are non-transferable and strictly assigned to the registered individual. Losing or misplacing your chest BIB means automatic disqualification from the course.  

•​Course Logistics: The road course stays fully secured against vehicular traffic until 08:30 AM. Hydration and Aid Stations remain fully operational until 10:00 AM to assist remaining runners. Accompanying non-registered individuals, bikes, or wheeled tracking support vehicles are strictly prohibited on the route.  

•​Timing Checkpoints: Official timing mats are placed along the course. Missing or irregular split times at official check gates will result in an immediate post-race review and potential disqualification.
